According to a recent press release from THQ (found via VG247), the Syfy television network will be using THQ’s trademarked character "de Blob", seen in the game de Blob for the Wii, in order to launch their new series of shows titled Syfy Kids.
The press release (linked below) offers more detailed information regarding the video game character adaptation, but I think the main point is made in the headline. Seriously? Syfy Kids? And de Blob?
Personally, I’ve always enjoyed Syfy for some of the most unbelievably ridiculous original movies ever produced, including such hits as "The Furnace" and that one movie where the kids try to make the movie in the woods but get ambushed by troll rednecks. And now this! I think we can expect great things from Syfy Kids and THQ.
