Over on German site PC Games Online, it was confirmed that both a single player and multiplayer demo will be released for Crytek’s upcoming FPS, Crysis. While a solid release date hasn’t been pinned down, the two demos will be released near the game’s release date; Q3 2007. The story also confirms that a multiplayer beta test will be conducted, but there are conflicting reports on the number of players who will be able to participate. Causing a little crisis of their own, PGO reports that only 20,000 keys will be issued, but a follow-up on inCrysis says that the actual number remains unconfirmed.
While it’s a no-brainer for demos to come out before a game’s release, the hot commodity that is Crysis is generating quite a lot of interest recently. With the emphasis laid squarely on the game’s robust and cutting-edge game engine, fans are simply drooling for any chance to get their hands on the game.
