It’s a good day to be an Xbox 360 owner, because available for download today are two games that many have been looking forward to getting their hands on. Both the already-contested parody, The Simpsons Game and the me-too action title Conan can be test-driven for the price of a few minutes of download time and about 925 MB of hard drive space.
The Simpsons Game demo offers gamers the chance to play as Homer and Bart as they fend off a giant statue of Lard Lad, who has been brought to life, along with dozens of miniature Krusty the Clown robots. It’s a hectic battle, with plenty of Simpsons humor thrown in the mix.
In God of– er, I mean Conan, you play a musclebound, barbaric warrior named Krato– I mean Conan – who mercilessly chops and slices his enemies to pieces, leaving a bloody trail of destruction wherever he goes. I tried it out, and although it feels strangely familiar, that feeling is quite welcome.
The Conan demo is unavailable in Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan, but the Simpsons demo is for all Xbox Live regions.
