So I'm perusing the gaming sites on Friday night, and after I check my writing to see if anyone else commented, I go to my primary news source, and what's the first story I see? "Your first look at Mass Effect 2."
REEEEEALLLLYYY???!!!!
So of course, I throw the headphones on and click play. For anyone who is unfortunate enough not to have seen it yet, watch it first.
Done? Good. Let's discuss.
Of course, there's not a whole lot to discuss, I suppose. It is only a minute after all.
The first 35 seconds contains all information from the first game. Notable Service: Liberation of Eden Prime, Citadel Siege, First Human Spectre. Known Alien Associates: Liara T'Soni, Garrus Vakarian, Tali'Zorah Nar Rayya, Urdnot Wrex. All things I remember fondly.
It's the Status window that starts to make things interesting. KIA? What the hell happened? And furthermore, why is a Geth in his suit? Are we not going to play as Shepard in Mass Effect 2? The programmers have said that our character from the first one would carry over to the second game; could it be that we play as his son or daughter now? That he's a father figure until he's killed, then the rest of the game is for justice? Is Shepard even dead, or is his status changed just to hide him from any real threat? Could that even be a glimpse of the ending?
There are a whole lotta questions that come out of this minute of video, but rest assured that Mass Effect fans like myself are stirring with excitement for this game to come out, and any video is good video.
Now all I need is a release date and a time machine...

Hmmm, looks like it could be interesting. You know, I didn't really care for Shepard anyway. I thought he was a weak character.
Hopefully it could be the ending, I always wanted to carry my character over into the next game, maybe you get a choice in a part of the game where you can sacrifice yourself for another character or maybe, they're just stirring **** to make people specualte. Either way, I can't wait.
