Codemasters and GameTap struck a deal yesterday that’ll allow GameTap subscribers to play several of Codemasters’ current games, including DiRT and Overlord and other future titles, including Clive Barker’s Jericho and Turning Point: Fall of Liberty upon their retail release.
Things are definitely looking up for GameTap. Along with offering several free games that don’t require a subscription fee (like Tomb Raider: Legend, several Hitman games and old school console games), they’re picking up juicy deals with hefty game publishers. This goes to show that digital distribution is certainly working and people are definitely responding.
Stuart Snyder, Turner Broadcasting System’s Executive Vice President and COO, said, "Codemasters is a forward thinking company with great current and upcoming titles that are exactly the kind of game our subscribers want to play. Making games available to play day and date with the retail release to our subscribers is a top priority for our business."
