In a boast that brings back memories of Jack Tretton’s infamous statement that he would buy back any PS3s found unsold in the US, Circuit City has turned this idea on its head and has announced that it will guarantee customers $20 if stores fail to have copies of Super Paper Mario available at 2PM on launch day, April 11.
Although the ads have been reported and posted by various internet sites, oddly enough, there is no mention of the $20 guarantee on the Circuit City website. However, the store does have a promotion in which online orders that are not ready for pickup 24 minutes after confirmation result in the customer receiving a free $24 gift card. So, perhaps there are two ways to look into getting a cool $20.
