Although the Wii is undoubtedly the most sought after game console so far, rumblings from the game community have accused the Wii as being a two or three hit wonder, as far as killer apps are concerned.
Sooner or later, when people get tired of Wii Sports, Zelda and Metroid, what else is there to really play, they argue.
Well the answer may have shown up as Capcom has confirmed that Okami will be heading to the Wii sometime in spring 2008.
Okami originally drew high praise and very favorable review scores for its unique gameplay, intriguing graphics and novel approach to an adventure game.
Unfortunately, it was a huge failure when it came to sales — whether or not the Wii version rectifies this is up for debate. Will the Wii’s controller scheme help or hinder the enjoyment of the game and make it a financial success the second time around? Will the millions of Wii gamers still clamoring for a "game game" take this chance to try Okami? We’ll see.
Either way, it will be hard for poor Amaterasu to do worse.
