With each passing year it seems like the Call of Duty franchise gets more and more popular. This year the series will get its very own expo according to an Activision press release.
Titled "Call of Duty XP 2011," the celebration will take place in Los Angeles on September 2 and 3. Over 6,000 fans are expected to be in attendance on a secure 12-acre compound.
During the expo, Activision plans to present the world premiere of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3‘s multiplayer. This means attendees will have the first chance to try the many game modes, including the new Spec Ops survival co-op mode. Also shown for the first time will be the recently announced Call of Duty Elite service.
Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing, explained how this expo will be the ultimate experience for Call of Duty fans.
"From the high production values of our live, immersive events – all the way to the smallest details in every design and activity – we’re pulling out all the stops to make Call of Duty XP the ultimate gathering for the global community of Call of Duty fans," he said. "The celebration will immerse attendees in a Call of Duty experience unlike anything they’ve ever seen before."
Tickets will be available for $150 starting on July 19. On a positive note, all proceeds will go to the Call of Duty Endowment, a non-profit organization that helps veterans adjust to civilian life.
