By November, EA Sports' PS3 games at 60 FPS

ps3nbaliveTwo months ago, we ran a story saying EA ran into some troubles with the PS3 version of Madden 08. The game ended up running at 60 FPS for the Xbox 360 but only at 30 FPS on the PS3.

So are PS3 fans getting short-changed on EA Sports’ games? Newly elected EA Sports director Peter Moore said that the problem has been resolved.

In an interview with GameSpot, Moore said that the problem was due to not enough developmental time with the PS3. But all of that should be solved once NBA Live 08 makes its way into people’s hands come November. Afterwards, seemingly all EA Sports’ PS3 games will run at 60 FPS.

"Well, I see it going away with NBA Live 08. I think that we had a little bit of a mea culpa, but we’re getting up to speed on the platform. But that’s in the past. And beginning with NBA, we’re going to see PS3 titles from EA Sports running at 60 frames a second. So all of that’ll be forgotten by the holiday."

Sounds good to me. While the difference between 30 FPS and 60 FPS is not crazily noticeable by some, there are people out there that certainly can tell the difference and expect 60 FPS gameplay on a PS3, especially with all the cash laid down to buy the console.
