Bungie has decided to take on one of the most difficult and monumental tasks that faces the Xbox 360 and maybe even the Halo franchise; getting them mainstream and popular in the Japanese market.
Everyone knows the Xbox 360 is not doing well in Japan. The combination of the DS, Wii, and the PlayStation brands are too deadly of a triple threat for the Xbox 360 to overcome.
In spite of this, there is one game that could turn the tide for the 360 in Japan — Halo 3. Unfortunately, first-person-shooters are no way as popular in Japan as they are in other countries. Bungie certainly has an uphill battle. But as is typical, Bungie is ready to take on the challenge.
"I think that we recognize at Bungie, while we have a very intimate understanding of our community in North America and across Europe, I think we have got some work to do for our friends in Japan, to really improve both their understanding of the game. We also would like to know what the Japanese public would really like and have them help build our community."
Here’s hoping Bungie can bring the Xbox 360 some relief and popularity in Japan.
