Just when you thought we had enough big announcements from Blizzard this year, Blizzard has gone and announced that all of the highlights of this year’s Blizzcon 2008 (October 10-11 in Anaheim, California) will be televised through DIRECTV. DIRECTV users will apparently be able to call up the show as a pay-per-view item, and if you switch to the satellite service in August you can even get this item for free.
It’s funny to think how huge World of Warcraft is around the world, seeing as DIRECTV themselves think it’s a big enough event to warranty a deal with new subscribers. We are still unsure if the entire show will be broadcasted live or if we will just be given the big news and announcements expected from such an event. Tickets go on sale August 11 for 100 dollars a pop.
What do you think Blizzard has planned for the event? I expect (if it won’t be announced sooner) the release date of the next expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, along with a plethora of information on the recent build and progress of Starcraft II. Diablo 3 might be shown, but not showcased as much as Warcraft and Starcraft.
Anyone planning to go?
