It’s official. BioShock is in fact, a proven addictive substance–except it’s legal. The BioShock demo set a new record on Xbox Live as the fastest downloaded demo to hit 1 million. In nine days, gamers swarmed the Xbox Live marketplace to get their first taste of digital crack.
While we’re setting records, might as well take the all-time top ranked Xbox 360 game, along with the highest ranked game of the year across all platforms. For you football fans, this is looking like the LaDanian Tomlinson of video games.
All these accolades are no surprise to me. I started playing the game with doubt–I was a non-believer. But ever since I touched it, I’ve been addicted, and it’s becoming as infectious as the plasmids my character shoots up with.
Phenomenal story aside, there’s something eerily satisfying about it. 2k games creates a spine tingling mood with a decaying 60’s retro-futuristic look, and some of the greatest lighting that puts Hollywood horror flicks to shame.
Get out while you can people! Unless, of course, you’re into addictions. I should never have come… oh plasmids you’re my only friend.
