HD re-releases are the new cool thing, apparently. The success of the God of War Collection on the Playstation 3, the upcoming Sly Cooper Collection, the recently announced Ico and Shadow of the Colossus re-releases and Oddworld Strangers Wrath re-release have inspired yet another HD update to make an appearance. The excellent Beyond Good & Evil is getting remade in HD and coming to the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 next year.
To likely build anticipation of the revealed, but barely detailed Beyond Good & Evil sequel, Ubisoft has announced that the original title will be re-released on the Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network sometime next year. The game will run in 1080p, the score will be reworked, and all the textures and character models will get a nice once-over.
Beyond Good & Evil is the among the perfects candidates to receve an HD update. Through critically appreciated, the game did not sell very well, and not many people were able to play the game. As a download for a good price, no one will have an excuse to not check it out next year. Looks like Eddie’s recent Gamer Challenge wish will soon come true. That was quick.
