BioShock Infinite
“As I step blinking from the demo room, I am, to put it plainly, surprised — exactly what I couldn’t be; I played BioShock. I was ready for the twists, for the straining political ideologies and sci-fi powers Infinite will no doubt employ. Irrational meekly reminds me that I couldn’t be less prepared.”
Dead Island
“It may not be the dramatic tale of loss and survival that everyone was expecting, but Dead Island certainly looks like it will provide any fan of the zombie genre with hours upon hours of enjoyment. The combination of first-person action and role-playing elements create what could very well be a truly unique experience. One thing I can say for certain is this: Dead Island firmly has my attention.”
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
“Perhaps what Bethesda does best is immerse players in rich worlds that afford the opportunity to explore freely and let the game experience emerge naturally. In Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the feeling of finding one’s own path through such a world seems to be pervasive. … Players should prepare for a deep, broad, immersive experience in the northern reaches of Tamriel later this year.”
Mass Effect 3
“It’s all-out galactic war in Mass Effect 3, and at E3 2011, BioWare showed just how gigantic the battles will be and what can be expected in the conclusion of this epic sci-fi trilogy.”
Tomb Raider
“There really didn’t seem to be anything that could keep Tomb Raider from being an absolute hit. Lara is younger, more human, and dare I say sexier than her previous incarnation. The platforming looks smooth and enjoyable, the QTEs come at intensely fitting moments, puzzle solving looks to bring a great challenge, and the graphical nuances help immerse the player in the game world. It seems that Lara is all set for a triumphant resurrection.”
