Anyone who reads this site knows I’m pretty smitten for a little game called Castle Crashers that is coming eventually to the Xbox Live Arcade. And while I origionally pegged it for a 2009 release due to Microsoft’s fairly lengthly certification process, today I come bearing good news.
We will see Castle Crashers in August. This August. I know, I’m just as surprised as you are. The nice chaps over at the GamerScoreBlog (an official Microsoft blog) have announced the XBLA releases for the next 5 weeks. Drumroll please:
July 30: Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 – The most addictive game on the arcade releases a sequel. We knew this was coming, but it’s a nice reminder.
August 6: Braid – Some game that apparently is a "mind-bending and artistic puzzle-platfoormer."
August 13: Bionic Commando: Rearmed -A remake of the NES classic, now featuring co-op and new bosses.
August 20: Galaga Legions – Think PacMan Championship Edition, but for Galaga.
August 27: Castle Crashers – If you don’t know about this game then I haven’t been doing my job. You should probably read this, this and this to familiarize yourself with the game.
To round off the festivities of what GamerScore calls the "Summer of Arcade" they are giving away prizes that include 100,000 MS points, a 360 Elite and Gold Subscriptions.
