Yesterday, Atari released their first quarter financial reports. The company reported a $7.1 million loss, compared to a $32.8 million loss during the same period last year. Even though their losses were down for this quarter, their revenue was also down with Atari only pulling in $19.5 million, compared to $23.9 million during the same period last year.
Of the $19.5 million in revenue, $9 million was from selling their rights to the Stuntman franchise to THQ earlier this year. Two months ago, Atari also sold the rights to the Driver franchise and Reflection Studios for $24 million to Ubisoft; these earnings will be reported in next quarter’s financial reports. In total, Atari raised $37 million for future projects.
