Atari creator says PS3 stinks, Xbox 360 the best

Nolan Bushnell, creator of the Atari, is once again complaining about Sony’s presence in the video game market. He was previously noted for saying that the original PlayStation’s great success was just an "accident," and Sony just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Bushnell believes the Xbox 360 is the clear winner in this generation of systems because of Xbox Live and its large library of games. "It’s a software race at this point, the hardware is just secondary. I play the Xbox 360 more than the other systems, although I don’t have a PlayStation 3 yet. I’m not sure if I will get one, because there isn’t really a compelling reason to own one just yet".

He went on to say that many engineers have told him that it is very difficult to write programs for the PS3, which supports the fact that the system currently has a weak variety of different titles. Bushnell said, "that’s [hard programming] keeping a lot of good things from the PlayStation 3, because engineers and developers are shying away from it."

Bushnell also praised the Nintendo Wii for its innovative motion sensing controllers, and also for bringing old game developers back into business.
