This Wednesday, the classic Asteroids is slated to be released for the Xbox Live Arcade. For 400 Microsoft Points, you’ll get the classic Asteroids game and Asteroids Deluxe, which has been upgraded for HD with effects similar to Geometry Wars.
If you don’t know what Asteroids is all about (and either have suffered massive head injuries that cause memory loss, or just were born a little too late for it), then I’ll fill you in. You commandeer a spacecraft to battle for survival against the ultimate enemy: rocks.
That’s right, you blow massive stones into… well more stones, but of lesser size, all the while dodging your way for survival. If you last long enough, aliens in flying saucers come by and harass you: because you know what? They don’t like you blowing up their rocks.
