This probably won’t end up being a kind week for Take Two’s stock prices. They just can’t seem to distance themselves from bad publicity.
Following hot on the heels of the sentencing of their former CEO (for faking stock values no less…I don’t have to tell you what kind of fear that would put into a potential stock buyer,) comes news that their newest football game All Pro Football 2K8 isn’t performing as well at retail as they had hoped.
Not only is it looking like APF 2K8’s sales aren’t going to be able to hold a candle to the juggernaut that is Madden, but they aren’t going to be significant by any measure.
"We’re not terribly pleased and not disappointed," said Ben Feder, President and CEO of Take Two, during a conference call. "We’re watching closely and are going to react proactively when Madden comes out. We know we’re in competition with them."
So basically, APF 2K8 is on the B squad. But that’s not so bad when you’re the B squad leader
