Activision has revealed today that the publisher is creating a new videogame adaptation for the Men in Black franchise, set to coincide with the release of “Men in Black III” in the spring of 2012.
Details were very scarce on the game, including just what genre it would be as Activision kept their description vague.
“True to the spirit of the franchise, the original title will feature action-packed, yet light-hearted gameplay mixed with edge-of-your-seat shooting excitement from the universe’s most elite peacekeeping force,” stated the description in the official press release.
Posting on his blog, Dan “One of Swords” Amrich provided the first pair of teaser screenshots of the game, which don’t give much more clarity on just what the game will be.
“Right now, there are two teaser images, and based on those, the game could be anything, but we know this much: it will be something,” wrote Amrich.
What is known is that the game is being created in a partnership with Columbia Pictures and, according to Joystiq, developed by Fun Labs, which has created several Cabela’s games for Activision. The game will also release on both consoles and handhelds, though it wasn’t made clear specifically which ones.
