Activision Blizzard executives will earn $40M

activisionblizzardFollowing the merger of the year between Activision and Vivendi Games, the CEO and co-chairman of the new super-publisher are expected to get a hefty payout — $40 million.

Activision Blizzard’s new CEO, Bobby Kotick, who was Activision’s former CEO, will share the $40 million sum with Activision Blizzard’s co-chairman Brian Kelly. In the end, if you can merge (arguably) the two biggest gaming companies together, you deserve a nicely sized payout.

According to mcvuk.com, "Each will receive around $10 million in change-of-control payments and 363,637 shares, which have a current value of $10 million. Kotick is also set to receive a further one million shares over the next five years, depending on the company’s performance."

In related news, Kotick and Kelly aren’t the only Activision Blizzard folks who are swimming in money; during the month of October, Activision shared the #1 spot with Nintendo as the #1 publishers. Thanks to the mega success of Call of Duty 4, Activision shared 12.8% of the total market share with Nintendo in October.

Mcvuk.com reports, "According to ELSPA/ChartTrack sales data for November, Activision enjoyed a 9.1 per cent jump on the 2.7 per cent revenue share it recorded in October – largely thanks to the success of Call of Duty 4, the biggest selling game of the month."
