Yet another title has become non-exclusive to the PS3, but not in the way you would think. The news, revealed by Famitsu, reveals that the long-standing PlayStation-only title, Ace Combat, will be moving over to the Xbox 360 — with no plans for a PlayStation edition.
Ace Combat 6 will offer changes to the series’ gameplay, such as team and ranking modes. The major addition to AC6 will be online gameplay. The intense single player action of Ace Combat has always had the player pitted against AI bogeys. But the new capability to go head to head with live gamers in dogfights is sure to boost the game’s playability and attraction for AC fans and virtual fighter pilots alike.
The Ace Combat series has been with the PlayStation since 2002, with the first game entitled Air Combat. The defection to Microsoft and the move to make Ace Combat exclusive to the Xbox 360 (at least for now) is another indication that game companies are seeing the green behind developing games for the Xbox 360.
