So who wants rumble inside their PSP or DS? Heart skip a beat? If Immersion has their way we might see rumble coming to the portable scene sometime in the future. Seems Immersion feels the rumble would create an extra layer of realism, which is currently enjoyed only by consoles.
"The effects and strength you can get with a small motor is really amazing... you really feel the staccato of a machine gun, you really feel when you're pressing on a piece of glass on a touch screen that you're pressing a low profile button... This would translate quite easily to the Nintendo DS, PSP or almost any mobile device"
The only kink in the plan is Nintendo's own rumble technology used for their consoles. Thus, seeing Immersion rumble on the DS is probably unlikely.
The PSP though, is a great possibility especially since Sony and Immersion recently kissed and made up over their spat regarding Sony's infringement on rumble patents held by Immersion.
It would certainly give the PSP a feature the DS doesn't currently have, which is never a bad trait when facing down Nintendo's popular handheld.
Let's hope these dreams become reality because handheld rumble could really add something special to the already phenomenal handheld market.

i think rumble feature on psp and ds is a bad idea seeing as how it would shake your screen and be quite annoying
The DS already has a rumble pack, so... Whatever.
And, ew....
"handheld rumble could really add something special to the already phenomenal handheld market"
And kill the already short battery life of my PSP...
