Unreal Tournament 3 for PS3 to Support Mouse and Keyboard

GamersReports has revealed that Unreal Tournament 3 for the PlayStation 3 will support the mouse and keyboard as an alternative for the traditional controller. This info comes via the official Unreal Tournament 3 boards where Mark Rein himself confirmed the rumors.
"Folks,
I checked with Steve Polge and he said that YES we are supporting keyboard and mouse in Unreal Tournament 3 on PS3. He is confident we are doing it in a way that will be balanced without feeling "gimped" for either side. We'll also allow people to choose whether or not they want to allow mixed controller vs. keyboard/mouse games or not.
I think you guys are going to love UT3!

One has to really wonder about how Epic will balance the significant advantage the mouse and keyboard has over a controller. It can probably be assumed there isn't much one can do without significantly effecting one of the control schemes, and thus the advantages may not change. The biggest evidence of this is gamers can choose to avoid matches with a mix of mouse and controller control schemes. If there wasn't an advantage issue, this option would not be available. It will be interesting to see, once Unreal Tournament 3 ships, which is preferred among the PlayStation 3 owners.

*hugs mouse and keyboard* True FPS tools of destruction. Screw that analog joystick. The question is, what hardware is supported?
That's the disadvantage. The only supported hardware is an Amiga Ball mouse and one of those clacky old dell keyboards. But yeah, Mouse and Keyboard over controller any day.
I'm hoping to hell that microsoft starts to allow this with any fps games that allow pc gamers and 360 gamers to play together....and even the ones that don't......i'm looking at you Orange Box.
So first they get mods and now they get keyboard and mouse. Why not just buy the game on PC, lol?
yea why not buy it for pc now :pthe pc is better anyways if you have got a good one, so pc graphics beats ps3 specially when ps3 graphics have as far as i have seen been less dtailed than the same game on other consoles this far
soon there is no reason getting it for ps3, which is good as there is no reason to get ps3 :p
@Jambo: Because they spent so damn much on a PS3 they can't afford to upgrade their computer
Yeah, but even if they balance them people would still SAY it makes a difference so that feature would be a good thing to have.
