Looks like Visceral Games may not be done diving into classic literature for their next game ideas. After Dante’s Inferno and that rumored Jack the Ripper game, they may be setting their sights on Macbeth. In an interview with IndustryGamers, Dante’s Inferno executive producer Jonathan Knight has stated that, "Macbeth the game is something I’ve been thinking about for years, but now, I think the emotional quality that games are achieving and the value level of the acting and the sound work makes it possible."
I believe a game about Shakespeare’s (in this writer’s opinion) best work would be something that just could not make the jump to the games medium, but I said the same thing when I heard Inferno from The Divine Comedy was being adapted and they seem to have pulled it off, albeit in a much more violent and graphic way then I believe Dante himself would ever have imagined. He probably didn’t think televisions would be a reality either.
