Irrational Games has been quiet on its plans for BioShock Infinite DLC in the past few months, but today the company released the floodgates and revealed plenty of details on the game’s post-release content.
First off, BioShock Infinite‘s first piece of DLC is available today. That’s exciting news, but some fans might be disappointed to hear that the content revolves around an arena mode. “Clash in the Clouds” features four maps with 15 waves of enemies on each, and players can use cash earned to unlock items like concept art and voxophones at The Columbian Archeological Society.
Irrational Games will get back to narrative-focused experiences with the next two pieces of DLC. The first of those, titled “Burial at Sea,” places Booker and Elizabeth in Rapture two years before the fall of the underwater city. The trailer (SPOILER WARNING) hints at a noir-styled adventure and features a nice surprise at the end.
The last piece of DLC will be the second episode of “Burial at Sea,” but this time players will take control of Elizabeth. Irrational Games Creative Director Ken Levine explained that the shift in protagonists results in a different kind of experience. Both episodes will be priced at $14.99, while “Clash in the Clouds” has a $5 price tag (except for those who already purchased the season pass).
