It’s finally here. After much talk about Japan and Europe seeing the special anniversary re-release of Super Mario All-Stars for the Wii, Nintendo of America has finally decided to grace those of us here in the US.
This news comes a week after the announcement that the anniversary edition red Wii would also make North America its last stop on the celebration tour.
According to the press release, the games included in this special 25th anniversary package are: Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (known as Super Mario Bros. 2 in Japan), all of which were included in the original Super Mario All-Stars for the SNES.
Also packed in, is a Super Mario History soundtrack CD. It has tracks from the original NES classic Super Mario Bros., all the way up to the most-recent Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Another piece of fan service is the 32-page Super Mario History booklet, which contains interviews, behind-the-scenes details, rare concept art, developer photos, and more.
Set for a December 12 release, this collection is a steal at $29.99. If you consider yourself a Nintendo fan, this is a must-have. Talk about the ultimate stocking-stuffer!
Nintendo has just put up a page for the game.
