If Borderlands, along with its four DLC packs, weren’t enough to keep you busy, then Gearbox Software has got something else for you. And it’s free.
Sometime in November, Gearbox will release a free update to all Borderlands users, allowing for expanded gameplay.
Those of you who aren’t satisfied with your max level cap, know you’ll now be able to grind up eight more levels.
Meaning, if you have the game, barebones, you’ll be able to progress from 50 to 58. But if you’ve purchased The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, where the max level cap was increased to 61, you’ll now be able to go all the way up to 69.
End game players that have completed play-through #2 will see enemies scale to the new levels up to the new level cap. So if you’ve done absolutely everything there is to do, you can continue to play the game over, as many times as you like, at a more challenging level, while also grabbing up better loot.
In addition to that, item drops will also adjust to the new higher-level enemies. In other words, these are the highest rated weapons, yet. This excludes COM Decks.
Also included in the free update are fixes to glitches, such as the DLC4 Achievement/Trophy glitches that have kept some users from obtaining their respective points. These glitches will be corrected to properly award players for obtaining these achievements no matter which order they were completed in.
