Obsidian Entertainment reaches funding goal for Project Eternity

Project Eternity

RPG developer Obsidian Entertainment recently reached its funding goal for Project Eternity, a game that is the spiritual successor to Planescape Torment, a single player PC RPG that was based off the Planescape Dungeons and Dragons setting.

Obsidian took to Kickstarter in order to gather enough money for the project. According to Destructoid, “the project has reached its $1,110,000 goal in just over 24 hours.”

Project Eternity is not supported by a publisher. Obsidian looked around and presented the game to companies it was interested in, but had no luck in finding one.

Obsidian has had a lot of success in developing RPGs with deep storylines, giving players many decisions to make. Hopefully this new title will be no different.

If any gamers out there are fans of Obsidian’s previous titles (Fallout 1 & 2, Planescape Torment, Knights of the Old Republic 2, and Arcanum), then they still have a chance to support a title which is being made by a talented team that knows how to make a satisfying RPG. Fans can check out Project Eternity‘s Kickstarter page to lend a helping hand.
