Wreck-It Ralph is a videogame bad-guy. He spends his days breaking buildings in the fictional Fix-It Felix Jr. game, but now he’s had enough. He wants to prove to the world that he can be a good guy, too, and he’s willing to visit all the game worlds in his arcade to prove it. Cue family fun and, I’m hoping, plenty of fun pokes and jibes at the videogame industry.
That’s the movie, but today it was revealed that there are Wii, 3DS, and DS games launching alongside the movie, courtesy of Activison and Disney Interactive.
“Wreck-It Ralph, as a brand entity, is perfectly suited for video game stardom,” said David Oxford, Executive Vice President of Activision. “With the fantastic characters and creative atmosphere envisioned by Walt Disney Animation Studios, we know fans are going to love seeing their newfound favorite characters embark on an all-new side scrolling adventure.”
So Wreck-It Ralph is a character in a movie, who is a videogame character, who will soon get his own videogame outside of theaters. Keeping up?
Both the Wreck-It Ralph movie and game launch on November 2nd.
And now here’s the trailer for the movie:
