Thanks to some “silliness” in handing out Beta invites over the weekend, Uber Entertainment has decided to release Super Monday Night Combat today. That means you can go download the free-to-play sequel on Steam right now.
Posting on the company forums, Uber Entertainment’s Ekanaut explained, “We had a bunch of invite issues over the weekend and the cleanest way to sort that out is to open it up. There will be a formal announcement, promotion, etc coming soon with the next patch. Really the way we see it, it’s no different that what we’ve been doing, which is continue to update the game.”
While some Beta participants are concerned the game isn’t ready for release (bugs, balance issues), Uber is confident they’ll quickly work out the bugs via patches just like a normal release.
