When TIME magazine’s list of the 100 Most Influential People comes to mind, figures like US President Barack Obama or internet mogul Mark Zuckerberg seem like the most likely candidates. But it turns out that a famous videogame designer is also being considered for inclusion.
Ken Levine, creative director and co-founder of Irrational Games, can be found on the full list of nominees. He is the sole videogame figure to make an appearance.
His work on 2007’s BioShock likely played a large role in his inclusion, with its unique underwater dystopia that called on literary influences from authors like Ayn Rand and George Orwell. Irrational Games’ next title, BioShock Infinite, is set for an October 16 release date.
Voting is taking place on the TIME magazine website right now, and the poll winner will be included on the official list of the 100 Most Influential People. Gamers wanting to show their support should head on over to Ken Levine’s page and cast a vote before the April 6 deadline.
