It’s been known for months that Diablo III would be coming out in 2012, but now gamers can mark down a specific date on their calenders: May 15.
At this very moment the game can be pre-ordered, and fans of the series may want to consider getting the $99.99 Collector’s Edition. It includes a behind-the-scenes Blu-ray/DVD two-disc set, the soundtrack, an artbook, and a 4GB USB “soulstone” with full versions of Diablo II and its expansion, Lord of Destruction.
Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment, commented on the exciting news.
“After many years of hard work by our development team and months of beta testing by hundreds of thousands of dedicated players around the world, we’re now in the homestretch,” he said. “We look forward to putting the final polish on Diablo III over the next two months and delivering the ultimate action-RPG experience to gamers worldwide starting on May 15.”
World of Warcraft players have the chance to receive a free digital copy of Diablo III by signing up for the MMO’s annual pass. That offer is valid until May 1.
