It has been revealed that Q.U.B.E., the first game to be released with the backing of the Indie Fund, recouped its full investment after just four days on Steam.

The Indie Fund is an organization helmed by notable game designers such as Jonathan Blow. The company’s goal is to financially assist aspiring independent studios such as Toxic Games, the makers of Q.U.B.E.

Toxic Games was able to repay the $90,000 investment thanks to Q.U.B.E.‘s success on Steam, and the game has sold over 12,000 copies on various digital distribution platforms.

Q.U.B.E. is a first-person puzzle game with a striking minimalistic art style. For those who are interested, more information can be found on the game’s official website.

My first experience playing a video game blew me away. The fact that Super Metroid was that game certainly helped. So I like to think Samus put me on the path to video games. Well, I guess my parents buying the SNES had a little something to do with it. Ever since then my passion for video games has grown. When I found that I could put words together into a coherent sentence, videogame journalism was a natural interest. Now I spend a large majority of my time either playing video games or writing about them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
