An intrepid explorer of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on the game’s PC version has discovered that the largely successful RPG from Bethesda Softworks has a much bigger landmass than earlier thought, as it includes the provinces of both Morrowind and Cyrodiil.
The user, PPSh-41, found a path leading Northeast from Standarr’s Beacon and upon following it, came to an archway with an invisible wall right where the Skyrim/Morrowind border should be. Going into no-clip mode, the user bypassed the wall and discovered that the landmass kept going into scaled-down, low resolution versions of the two neighboring provinces of Skyrim.
Locations of the settings for the previous two Elder Scrolls titles included Solstheim, Vvardenfell, and the Imperial City.
It’s unknown just why Bethesda placed both Morrowind and Cyrodiil into the game, but there are many possible reasons. It could be a holding placement for future DLC or expansions, created for modders to play around with, acting as a means to give the main mass of Skyrim a realistic scale, or just a cool Easter egg.
