Square Enix announced today that Parasite Eve 2, the PSOne horror classic, will be getting a digital download release for the PlayStation Network.
The news comes a day after Sony announced the original Parasite Eve would also be available on for PSN and the PSP this week.
Square Enix wrote in a press release that this is all in preparation for the series’ third installment, The 3rd Birthday, which will be coming to the PSP on March 29.
Originally released in September 1998, Parasite Eve follows the story of Aya Brea, a rookie NYPD officer who is investigating an "aggressive mitochondria" being named EVE. The game also features a turn based battle system a la the Final Fantasy series. Fans can purchase the game for $9.99.
As for Parasite Eve 2, Square Enix has yet to reveal a release date.
