By Frank Ling, GN Writer Thursday, December 29, 2005 What could be better than a copy of Half-Life 2? A copy of Half-Life 2 that is 64-bit enabled, that,s what. Valve, took the wraps off of its new Source engine and announced that it has developed the Half-Life 2 game to utilize AMD,s Athlon 64 FX processors. As “Maverick” said in the movie Top Gun, “I feel the need, the need for speed.” Going to 64-bit technology will certainly do that for many PC gamers. Gabe Newell, head of Valve said, "Bringing the Source technology to the AMD64 platform is an important step in the evolution of our game content and tools. This investment in future processing will allow us, and third party developers working with Source, to push the boundaries of the gaming experience." With all this said, I only have one question: can I over-clock the Athlon 64? Hey, who threw that rock at me?
