Valve software has confirmed episodic releases as a continuation to the storyline of Half Life 2. The long awaited ‘Aftermath’ Expansion has been dubbed "Episode 1". But to shake things up a bit, and perhaps to give hope to slavering Half Life fans, Valve has announced they have already been in development on Episode 2 for quite some time. The current expansion is set to go on sale for $19.99, and the following episodes will most likely follow suit as far as pricing. The first expansion is predicted to be somewhere between 4-6 hours of game play. This is fairly short for all the fans that have waited patiently for some hint of where the storyline is going. According to Robin Walker at Valve Software, the studio not only has Episode 2 planned, but have been working on it almost as long as they’ve been working on Episode 1. This is in hopes that we won’t have to wait too long for the next chapter. More will be revealed regarding the Citadel and the mysterious G-Man soon, with Episodes 1 and 2.
