Sony Corp. may be planning some damage control next week amidst all the negative press about its PS3. A press conference, held today in Tokyo, had a Japanese game publisher speculating about what Sony would say. Kiyoshi Komatsu, president of Koei said, “I really have no information [to add] on the PlayStation 3. [But] SCE will be holding a presentation next week on the 15th [of March]. We expect there will be some new information regarding the PS3 then.” What sort of information will it be? Komatsu continued, “I’ve been consult[ing] with SCE about what kind of details they should announce. I’ve told them that I’m hoping they will make an announcement that will heat up the game industry.” If Komatu™s wishes are to come true, we speculate that Sony could do no less than to present a working, stable PS3 for demonstration to the world. Now that would heat up the game industry if not set it on fire.
