Although many of us will not admit it, we,ve all bought a Happy Meal at McDonald,s for the cool toys the fast food franchises offers. We may not do it very often, but we have done it. We have stepped up to the counter and mumbled the infamous words, “Ah, it,s for my kid brother,” knowing very well that our meager attempts to fool the astute 18 year old cashier have failed miserably.
But in spite of the embarrassing situation, all true Nintendo fans may face the tortuous task of debasing themselves again by ordering five or six Happy Meals. Why? Nintendo and McD,s have signed a deal in which each and every Happy Meal will include a genuine Mario, Donkey Kong or Yoshi toy. (We,ll give you one guess as to where the GamerNode staff will be eating lunch this entire month.)
The toys are interactive and are an attempt by McDonald,s to encourage physical activity in children. In an official announcement by McDonalds, they said, "The ‘Take the Mario Challenge’ Happy Meal and Mighty Kids Meal event is part of McDonald’s ongoing commitment to helping guests better understand the keys to living balanced, active lives. This initiative… underscores the importance of eating right and staying active."
The Nintendo toys are available until September 21, or until supplies run out.
