Many may have winced at the PS3 prices of $499 and $599, but Nintendo,s Wii is about to enter the higher stratosphere of game console pricing…sort of. EB games and GameStop have announced a special bundled package of the Wii for a price of $694.88, excluding tax and shipping.
A little quick math will show that a base price of a Wii clocks in at $250 with the included Wii Sports title. There is another $444.88 that is left “unaccounted” for, so what else is included in this hefty bundle? According to GameStop, the official package will include the Wii plus six other games: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Red Steel, Trauma Center: Second Opinion, Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz, and Madden NFL 2007. Other amenities such as an extra Wiimote controller, a 1 GB memory card, a twelve month replacement plan and a one year subscription to Game Informer are also included.
The special Wii bundle will be available for preorder starting Thursday, and will ship to customers on November 19.
