What’s better than Gears of War? How about two more of them?
According to Microsoft’s corporate vice president of global marketing, Jeff Bell, Gears of War will be extended to a trilogy. GameDaily reports Bell as referencing a "Gears of War trilogy" in regards to an ad featuring Gears hero Marcus Fenix.
Stephen McGill, head of marketing for the Xbox said, "We’ve seen tremendous excitement and demand for Gears of War in Europe. This title offers new and exciting content and is a key example of Microsoft’s commitment to developing original and immersive titles for gamers everywhere."
Gears of War is a shooter developed by Epic Games. According to Mark Rein, the head of Epic, the cost of developing Gears was in the neighborhood of $10 million. The game was released earlier this month to wide critical acclaim and has proven to be a phenomenal hit for the Xbox 360, recently beating Halo 2 as the number one game on Xbox Live.
