Major Nelson revealed today that all Xbox 360 units shipping this holiday would undergo a cosmetic change. Instead of a glossy finish, gamers will find newly purchased Xbox 360s with a black matte finish.
This finish is similar to the exterior of the 4GB Xbox 360 unit. According to Major Nelson from his blog post about the subject, those who want a glossy Xbox 360 finish should hurry because stores are selling them as quickly as they are being received. Microsoft will still be offering the glossy finish on limited edition consoles like the upcoming Gears of War 3 and Star Wars consoles.
