Some rumors are too good to pass up and this one is juicy. A Sony insider has supposedly revealed that there will be a new PlayStation 4 coming out within 18 months. The source says the new machine will have the same chipset as the current PS3 but will differ in the areas of the drive bay and attachment sections. Other enhancements to the PS4 will be special software that will allow the user to manage media content from streamed TV or music feeds.
Another source within Sony commented, "We have even looked at a Sony home server based on PlayStation technology. This would allow consumers to connect home automation devices to the Sony server while also delivering online gaming and access to an extensive movie and music library."
If the new game console is a reality, it sounds more like a moderate upgrade to PlayStation 3.5 rather than a full fledged PS4.
