Another Deus Ex game is in the works according to France Patrick Melchior, the Director of Eidos. The revival of the franchise is the aim of the newly formed Eidos Montreal developmental studio, which currently employs around 40 people. No other details were mentioned at the time of this writing except that more information will be following in the coming months.
Deus Ex was originally released in June 2000 to critical acclaim and praise for its conspiracy-heavy plot, excellent writing and open-ended gameplay.
Acclaimed developer Warren Spector and Ion Storm-Austin handled the game’s development and went on to develop the sequel, Deus Ex: Invisible War, in December 2003. Spector left Ion Storm-Austin to found his own company, Junction Point Studios. Ion Storm shut its doors for business sometime later.
