Will Don Corleone continue to make offers that we can’t refuse? During a visit to EA’s office, industry analyst Todd Greenwald mentioned that EA is working on a sequel to The Godfather: The Game. In addition, the engine used in The Godfather will also be used in a variety of other upcoming titles, including the upcoming The Simpsons game.
In order to recoup the losses from the less than expected performance game sales of the title, the engine will be outsourced to other EA titles. Hopefully the public, this time around, will take up EA’s offer of a better game. I wonder what the game’s title would be? The Godfather 2: The Game? The Godfather: The Game 2? The Godfather Godfather Game?
Greenwald said, "We learned that EA is leveraging the significant amount of development time and costs that went into The Godfather game. The open-world engine was built from the ground up for The Godfather, and is now being used by five different franchises, including The Simpsons. The Godfather 2 is also in development currently, though timing is unknown."
