What if you were a ten-year old boy with terminal cancer and one of the things that would really make you happy was to have a custom World of Warcraft character made for you?
Make-A-Wish foundation heard Ezra Chatterton’s wish and arranged for World of Warcraft lead designer, Jeff Kaplan, to help Ezra design a world class WoW character. He calls his new creation, Phoenix.
Ezra’s dad commented, "I asked him to think about why he likes to play WoW and one thing he said was he likes interacting with people he doesn’t know. No matter how crappy things are going on the outside, in the real world, he can be strong and successful and really turn heads in WoW."
Ezra was grateful for what Blizzard did for him. "…I’d like to say thank you for everything you’ve done for my character to make him so good. I want to thank them for making the quest of the lost dog and the Old Rancher and all the stuff they gave us."
