It seems that an up-and-coming rock band, The Xbox Boys, isn’t getting heat because their music is loud or offensive, (well, maybe just to Jack Thompson), no sports fans, it just so happens that these console lovers have been accused of being Christians. (Oh no!)
Some are accusing the members of being a Christian rock band in disguise whose mission is to save the world. However, a quick listen to their tunes seems to go against this theory. Besides, the world is a pretty big place for a rock band to change everything…unless of course, you happen to be Bill and Ted.
Phil Fischer, the band’s lead singer said it was "not a religious thing, it was just an Xbox thing. We are just in love with the Xbox. This has nothing to do with our religion at all."
While the band members adhere to the message of Jesus, it seems that they’re just gamers – they love video games, pure and simple.
So does being Christian go against what they are trying to do as a rock band? Fischer said, "We aren’t ashamed of that, but this is about our love for a console."
Amen brother.
