Time to breathe a sigh of relief for Sony; Shacknews reports that Konami announced that Metal Gear Solid 4 will indeed be a PlayStation 3 exclusive, at least initially. Earlier this week, reports that the game might be going multi-platform were released but the stories faded away quickly when Microsoft failed to mention anything about MGS4 during it’s conference at E3.
A new trailer was released too, which you can see below by clicking "full story".
In addition, the game will feature a worldwide simultaneous release in early 2008. During Konami’s press conference, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima said, "The story for Snake will end, and also, for me as a game creator, this will be my last involvement in the series." Kojima also stated that all of the series’ storylines will be solved within MGS4.
Gameplay will remain as a stealth title but the game will take place within battlefields, which will add an action twist to the series. Lastly, Kojima said that he promises that he’ll pour all of his 20 years of game experience into MGS4.
