Dutch gaming website, PS3Only has reported that John Woo’s Stranglehold game will be delayed for launch for the PS3.
However, the PC and Xbox 360 versions will be on schedule. The dates for these versions to hit store shelves is scheduled for August 27 in the US and September 7 for Europe.
According to the article, Midway confirmed that the PS3 launch of Stranglehold would be late, but gave no indication of an alternative date. The PS3 debut of the game was originally slated for September 17 in the US.
There was no reason given for the delay, but if this story is true, it will be good news for Microsoft as gamers who can’t wait for the PS3 edition will most likely jump the fence and buy the 360 version of Stranglehold instead.
Not great news for the PS3 which is desperate for killer apps.
